Biography

Artist: Joseph T. Peterson/JTP
I have lived here in Louisville for the past five years.  I have lived in various parts of the United State and Europe. I started painting about ten years ago, lost my early pieces and my desire to paint. A trip to Holland last year found me at the koller-Muller Musuem. And entering the gallery full of Van Gogh I was once again siezed with the passion that had alluded me for so long. God I still had a week before I got back to my studio, I was burning to paint again. And so in the last year and a half I have done almost 200 hundred pieces. It was discovering the vinyl in this past year, which were being discarded by the firm I worked for that has been holding my interest, as I experiment with different techniques with this to me unusual medium to paint on, the whiteness and the smoothness of the vinyl is a joy for me.
