Madcap Puppets bring Wild West up to Speed
Feb 10, 2010
Hey, buckaroos! Don't miss the Madcap Family Weekend March 13 and 14 at the J.B. Speed Art Museum, which will feature the zany puppet performance, Annie Oakley's Wild West Show.
The Cincinnati-based Madcap Productions Puppet Theatre will perform March 13 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and on March 14 at noon and 3 p.m. Amazing stunts, tall tales and funny adventures mark Madcap performances, which use life-sized puppets and zingy dialog.
For Speed Art Museum members, admission to the performance is $6. Non-members pay $2 more. Madcap Puppets have performed previously at the Speed, the last time in late January.
During the Madcap Family Weekend, which runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 13 and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, visitors can not only see the puppets perform but dabble in art, hear stories or explore the museum's galleries to find the art that inspired the Art Sparks Interactive Gallery. Visitors can enjoy Family Art Sparks Studios, an exploration of art techniques. Non-members pay $5 for family studios, but it's free for members.
