Biography of Carole Jackson-Powell
Carole is a native Kentuckian, lives iln Bullitt County and mostly is a self-taught artist. However, she majored in Art at Kentucky Wesleyan College, Louisville School of Art, and studied at Schrodt Gallery. She also studied decorating and design at Bellarmine University, Louisville, Ky.
For the past 8 years or so, she has been painting murals in and around the metro area and in other cities. Her work can be seen at www.dreamartworks.com These murals are in residences, hospitals, restaurants, churches, and businesses. Her murals are very reasonably priced, and most can afford them.
She has participated in several shows and is consistently commissioned to create paintings and murals. Her paintings are mainly acrylic on canvas. In 2000, Carole began working fulltime as a freelance artist and muralist. The mural work she has created is in restaurants, hospitals, churches and private homes. Her prints and paintings are hanging in homes and businesses from Florida to Kentucky. Carole is Vice President of the Bullitt County Arts Council, which promotes the arts in Bullitt County.
