Born in a small village in Bosnia, Teslic was my hometown. Shortly after being born on November 15, 1990, war broke out in Bosnia. Living there only about a year, my family moved to a city near Frankfort, Germany. Life was good in Germany, steady pay, lots of friends, great weather, and all the other things any person would want. Living in an apartment with my two brothers was fun. Getting to see them everyday just made me happier. Everything was dandy until, my older brother, Neno, who is deaf, got his visa rejected and we were given two choices: 1) Go back to Bosnia, or 2) Go to another country. Well, we didnt want to go back to the war-torn Bosnia, so, we applied an application to the country of Australia where many Bosnians who wanted to escape from the war went. After waiting for a month, we received our rejection letter. So, we decided to go to the land of never-ending opportunity.
We quickly got our letter of acceptance to America and we were off to Trenton, New Jersey. After hearing so many Bosnians telling us how America was the best country in the world, there was never a shortage of work, and you had all the freedoms in the world. When we arrived in Trenton, we felt as they were all lying. Living in an apratment was no problem with us, it's just that the constant noise of police sirens, gunshots, dog barks, people yelling and screaming got to us. We thought that there had to be a better place.
Before we left Germany, we had made a deal with a lifelong friend of ours. They would go to one city, Louisville, and we would go to another, Trenton, and we would see which one is better and if one of us did'nt like their city they could move to where the other family was. Thank god for that deal of I would still be in Bosnia. Only after 6 months in Trenton, we moved to Louisville, Kentucky.
I enjoy Louisville, all the great places to go and all the great people to meet. I love going to parks and downtown to take pictures and just to hang out with my brothers. I enjoy playing games, tennis, soccer, bike ridding, and off course, taking pictures. I hope one day to become a freelance photographer. I currently go to Lousivlle Male High School, a Junior this year. I am 16 years old. I have lots of friends and get along with almost everyone. Thanks for looking!
