Fourth Street Live Louisville: Dining, Shopping, Celebration

Day or night, Fourth Street Live Louisville in the heart of the Central Business District provides a fun-filled destination for entertainment, dining or shopping. Located on Fourth Street between Liberty Street and Muhammad Ali Boulevard, Fourth Street Live Louisville attracts hundreds of young people — particularly on the weekends and in the warm summer months.

The 350,000-square-foot entertainment complex hosts local celebrations, events, dances and outdoor concerts; acts that have performed at Fourth Street Live! in the past include Gretchen Wilson, the Goo Goo Dolls, Three Dog Night, the Marshall Tucker Band, VHS or Beta and the Violent Femmes. In addition, many of the restaurants and bars provide live music for at least part of the week.

During concerts, some summer weekends and major events, the Fourth Street Live! corridor is closed to automobile traffic.

Whether it's casual dining, live music, dancing, shopping or just socializing with friends over drinks or appetizers, Fourth Street Live Louisville attracts hundreds of patrons. Most are young people in their 20s, but teenagers and older folks can have a good time, too.  Fourth Street Live! is within walking distance of downtown hotels, Waterfront Park, the Belle of Louisville, historic Main Street, museums and other attractions. However, most Fourth Street Live! businesses bar those under 21 years of age after 10 p.m.

The Hard Rock Café, the Hotel Nightclub, Improv Comedy Club & Dinner Theatre, Maker's Mark Bourbon House and Lounge, Sully's Restaurant & Saloon, Cunningham's Restaurant, TGI Friday's, Howl at the Moon, J. Gumbo's, Borders Books and Music and Lucky Strike Lanes are just a very few of the many bars, restaurants and businesses located in the Fourth Street Live! corridor. Many of the bars don't close until 4 a.m.

Fourth Street Live! may be a premier destination for the public, but it's also available for private parties. The entertainment complex can accommodate anywhere from 100 to a whopping 10,000 guests.

Downtown Louisville parking meters are free on nights and weekends. Valet parking is available on Friday and Saturday nights.
