Extreme athletes from all over the metro area take their skateboards, in-line skates and bicycles to the Louisville Extreme Park — where acrobatic leaps, spins, flips and flights are par for the course. Whether you want to be a daredevil or just see one, the Louisville Extreme Park is extremely attractive.
Built in 2002, Louisville Extreme Park consists of 40,000 square feet of concrete skating surface, including steps, bowls, fun boxes and a 24-foot full pipe in addition to having a wooden vert ramp. The park has the perfect combination of street style, transition style and vert. A thrill to suit every taste!
In addition to the full pipe, Louisville Exreme Park contains an 11-foot wooden vert ramp with a 13-foot extension, two 11-foot bowls, two eight-foot bowls, two four-foot bowls, fun boxes, a street course, a six-foot flat bank, ledges, rails and endless lines.
Skaters, skateboarders and cyclists use the Louisville Extreme Park at their own risk and are required to wear protective helmets. No smoking, drinking, drugs or food are permitted within the park’s fenced skating area. Sections of the park are coded as to whether they’re best suited to beginning, intermediate or advanced visitors. Parents are strongly urged to supervise their children.
Those wishing to hold a demonstration or other event must get a permit from the City of Louisville, which built and owns the park. You can apply for a permit online or by calling (502) 368–5865. Permts are not issued for musical performances, as the Extreme Park was not designed for concerts.
