The Louisville Science Center takes its mission seriously: to make science fun! The Louisville Science Center features more than 120 interactive exhibits, a four-story IMAX Theatre, a 2,600-year-old mummy, KidZone, and more.
The exhibit Splash! lets kids 7 and younger -- along with intrepid parents and grandparents -- use waterwheels, tubing and funnels to experiment with water levels, flow, spraying and pouring.
Another exhibit, Amazon Voyages: Vicious Fishes and Other Riches, teaches about the diversity of the Amazon River and features live fish, including stingrays and a Tetra fish school.
The 12,500-square-foot permanent exhibit The World We Create includes more than 40 activity stations and uses hands-on demonstrations, interactive presentations and the activity stations to show how math, science, and technology affect everyday life.
Two other permanent exhibits explore the natural world. The 10,500-square-foot World Within Us examines the biology and chemistry inside our bodies. The 8,000-square-foot World Around Us focuses on the air, water and environment.
A longtime favorite, the mummy called Tchaen-hotep, has been on display in Louisville for more than a century. And the popular Kid Zone is back! Children up to age 7 can splash, drive an ambulance, fly through the skies, supervise a construction zone or explore the galaxy in a spaceship.
The Louisville Science Center has special programs for Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts and special sleepover Midnight Magic Camp-Ins.
