Alice Cooper's fans will get a sneak preview of the rock legend's new Theater of Death tour at his July 31 stop at Horseshoe Casino Hotel Southern Indiana. The Southern Indiana resort is just 25 minutes from downtown Louisville.
Along Came a Spider, Cooper's latest studio album and his 25th overall, received positive critical reviews. Cooper also serves as a DJ on the radio show Nights with Alice Cooper, which is heard on more than 100 radio stations. The Theater of Death tour starts in August.
Cooper's over-the-top theatrical musical show — inspired in equal measures by horror films, vaudeville and garage rock — features guillotines, electric chairs, fake blood, boa constrictors and baby dolls.
His 1972 classic "School's Out" marked the heavy-metal rocker's rise to stardom. Other hits include "I'm Eighteen," "No More Mr. Nice Guy" and "Only Women Bleed.” Cooper has influenced later bands and performers, including Kiss, Blue Öyster Cult, GWAR, W.A.S.P., Megadeth, Marilyn Manson, the Flaming Lips and Rob Zombie.
Tickets are priced at $35 and $45. To attend, you must be at least 21 years old. You can see a map of the outdoor stage here. Call (800) 745-3000 for reservations or buy tickets online; however, there's a limit of six tickets per household.
