Crosby, Stills and Nash play the Palace Sept. 11
Crosby, Stills and Nash — the legendary folk rock group enshrined in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 — will perform at the Louisville Palace Theatre in downtown Louisville on Sept. 11. The trio’s intricate vocal harmonies make their sound unmistakable.
Their hits include “Teach Your Children,” “Our House,” “Just a Song Before I Go,” “Wooden Ships,” “Ohio,” “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes,” “Marrakesh Express” and “Southern Cross.” Crosby, Stills and Nash were as influential on the 1960s counterculture and on later progressive movements as they were on the music scene.
CSN had impressive résumes before they ever joined forces. David Crosby (fired from the Byrds) and Stephen Stills (late of Buffalo Springfield) began harmonizing at a party at “Mama” Cass Elliot’s house in the late 1960s. Graham Nash of the Hollies was there and joined in. They realized that they belonged together. In a trial by fire, their second gig together was before 500,000 people at Woodstock!
Tickets cost $59.50, $70.50, $80.50 and $99.50. The Louisville Palace’s website offers ticket buyers a chance to see the view from their seat before they buy.
