Fright Fest at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom: thrills, chills

Halloween's too much fun for just one night. Fortunately, you can celebrate for a whole month with Six Flags Fright Fest Presented by Snickers®. The yearly monster bash at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom runs Saturdays and Sundays, Oct. 3 through Nov. 1.

Daytime fun at Fright Fest isn't all that frightening. It's geared for younger visitors, with daily attractions such as:

Trick or Treat Trail and Scary-oke singing in Looney Tunes Movie Town, noon-5 p.m.;

Kidz Hay Maze at the front gate, noon-5 p.m.;

Spooky Story Time Halloween stories with Bugs Bunny and friends at the Carrot Hut in Movie Town, 1 and 3 p.m.

Not-so-spooky Street Magic in Movie Town, noon-5 p.m.

Costume Contest for kids 10 and under in the Six Flags Amphitheater, 4 p.m.

Families will also enjoy Elvira's House of Superstition, which runs throughout operating hours in Thrill Park Theater; the Mr. Six Spooktacular Street Party in the Six Flags Amphitheater at 2 and 3 p.m.; the More Flags, More Fright Parade beginning at the Looney Tunes Movie Store each day at 5 p.m.; and Dancensation Showbiz Kidz on the Food Court Stage at 2, 3 and 4 p.m.

Daring souls will also find plenty to scream about at Fright Fest. Street zombies will prowl around every corner daily after 5 p.m., but they're only part of the fun.

A new haunted attraction in SkyCoaster Plaza runs from 2:13 p.m. till closing. The Woods of the Wicked outdoor haunted attraction runs from 6:13 p.m. till closing. A $5 combo ticket includes admission to the SkyCoaster Plaza attraction and the Woods of the Wicked.

The Six Flags Amphitheater is home to two spooky shows: Dr. Fright's Final Freak Out begins at 7 and 9 p.m. Saturdays and at 7 p.m. Sundays. The Wheel of Fright Show begins at 6 and 8 p.m. Saturdays at 6 p.m. Sundays.

General admission is $30 at the door for adults and $25 for children under 48 inches tall. Online tickets are $25 for all ages

For a better value, consider the $30 Play Passes, which offer unlimited admission to Fright Fest 2009 and unlimited visits to all Six Flags Theme Parks during 2010. Regular 2010 season passes, available for $40, include the same unlimited admission features plus free tickets for friends, a Passholder Value Book and in-park discounts.
