A “Water Wars” weekend, chocolate lovers’ event and Halloween campout will be part of the fun during the late summer and fall events at Louisville South KOA. All the regular activities, such as hotdog roasts, swimming, fishing and outdoor movie night, will still be offered at Louisville South KOA, in addition to the special late summer and fall events scheduled to take place July through October.
Located 15 miles south of Louisville in Shepherdsville, Louisville South KOA will offer special activities for the 4th of July weekend, one of its most popular camping events of the year. There will be a scavenger hunt, bike decorating, a music DJ and other activities July 1-5.
Also in July, KOA will host its annual “Water Wars” weekend July 15-17. Campers will participate as teams to blast rivals with water. The event will feature a slip-and-slide, balloon bombs and a challenge by the local fire department.
The weekend of July 22-24 will be KOA’s second annual Chocolate Lovers Weekend, which was a huge success last year. A chocolate slip-and-slide, taste-testing and flashlight candy hunt are among the activities scheduled.

There also will be a movie night, ice cream social and pool games.
An end-of-the-season celebration will fall on Labor Day Weekend, September 2-5. KOA will hold a contest to determine best campsite, a DJ will play music and a campground-wide cookout will be held. Make reservations early to be a part of this fun-filled weekend.
During the fall, KOA will host Halloween weekends, scheduled for October 14-16 and October 21-23. Book early to get a campsite. The campground will host a best costume contest, a scary walk, a haunted hayride and trick-or-treating.
