The Speed Art Museum
The Speed Art Museum is offering a sweet deal from 1 to 3 p.m. on Mother’s Day, when visitors can sample chocolates from local confectioneries. While taking a Mothers-in-Art tour of the museum, guests can spend time browsing the Speed’s special exhibit, Impressionist Landscapes: Monet to Sargent. The Museum Shop will offer a special 20 percent discount during the event.
Broad Run Vineyards
Treat Mom to a wine tasting, courtesy of Broad Run Vineyards, where bartenders and owners make guests feel at home. The tasting room, which is open Sundays from 1 to 6 p.m., features a terrace overlooking a pond and the hills and vineyards that cover 25 acres of the family’s 72-acre farm. The Belle of Louisville
In celebration of Mother’s Day, the Belle of Louisville will host a special afternoon cruise and lunch buffet. The entire family is invited aboard for an afternoon of fun on the Ohio River. The historic steamer Belle of Louisville is owned and operated by Louisville-Jefferson County Metro Government. Built in 1914 by James Rees & Sons Company for West Memphis Packet Company, the steamboat was originally named the Idlewild. The Mother’s Day event will run from 2 to 4 p.m. Admission is $34 for adults and $20 for children.
CeeLa Naturals Salon
For the conscientious mother in need of pampering, treat Mom to a trip to CeeLa Naturals Salon, which offers every kind of pampering needed to relax, reduce stress and revive mind, body and spirit. The Oakroom
A special Mother's Day Royal Brunch will be held at the Oakroom, which ranks as Louisville's only five-diamond and AAA-rated restaurant. The Oakroom is located at the historic Seelbach Hotel. The Mother’s Day brunch will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The buffet will feature a variety of traditional brunch items, a carving station with prime rib, a waffle station, an omelet station, a salad bar and assorted bakery items. This year's event will be held in the Seelbach’s Grand Ballroom. The cost is $50 per person plus alcohol, tax and gratuity. Ages 12 and under are half-price, while ages five and under are free.
