One of the best things about the holiday season is all of the beautiful lights and decorations on display all over town, but after so many years of attending the same events and cruising the same neighborhoods, it can begin to feel like you've seen it all. If you're in the mood to see something new this year, check out one of the Maker's Mark Distillery Candlelight Tours for nothing more than the cost of gas for a short road trip.
The Maker's Mark Distillery Candlelight Tours are annual, self-guided tours of the Maker's Mark Distillery. This year, the tours are taking place on December 4 and 11 between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. The tours are free, and guests will have an opportunity to purchase a souvenir Christmas bottle of Maker's Mark bourbon and this year's tree ornament—perfect gifts for a bourbon-loving friend.
The Maker's Mark Distillery is a beautiful mid-19th Century Victorian village, breathtaking year-round, but it's particularly stunning and beautiful during the holiday season when the entire village is covered in lights and decorations. In addition to the holiday decorations, guests will get a glimpse of how Maker's Mark bourbon is produced, from fermenting the product to sealing it with the company's signature red wax.
HelloLouisville Tip: While holiday tours of the distillery are occur only two days a year, free tours of the facility are offered year-round. Tours are held at the distillery every half hour from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
