Natalie Cole provides royal evening of song at French Lick Resort
Singing since she was 6, daughter of the legendary Nat King Cole, singer-songwriter Natalie Cole is equally adept at jazz, pop and rhythm ’n blues. Spend an unforgettable evening with Natalie Cole, a nine-time winner of the Grammy Award, on Sept. 24 at French Lick Resort.
Natalie Cole used miraculous modern technology to record herself in a duet with her late father on a Nat “King” Cole fan favorite, “Unforgettable,” on her 1991 album, Unforgettable... with Love. Ms. Cole’s other 21 songs on that album were vocal arrangements of her father’s greatest hits, accompanied by her uncle, Ike Cole, on the piano. The album went gold and won Album of the Year; the video single “Unforgettable” went platinum six times over.
Her most recent album, 2008’s Still Unforgettable, won the Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. Ms. Cole has also embarked on an acting career, guest-starring on the ABC hit TV series Grey's Anatomy and several other television shows and in the Cole Porter biographical film De-Lovely.
The French Lick Resort is just a little more than an hour from downtown Louisville. Cole’s concert will be in the Windsor Ballroom, which is on the second floor of the event center building attached to the French Lick Springs Hotel.
