
Music connoisseurs in Louisville have a plethora of opportunities to catch some incredible live music during the coming week. There are some great national and local acts with shows coming up from April 26-May 1 that you shouldn't miss:
Tuesday April 26
Indie-rock act The Decemberists with opening act Justin Townes Earle are are live at Iroquois Amphitheater, presented by 91.9 WFPK. Tickets for the event are $35, and are available online. The gates open at 6:30 p.m. the show starts at 8 p.m. This is an all ages show.
Wednesday, April 27
WFPK 91.9 presents Waterfront Wednesday on The Big Four Lawn in Waterfront Park with Walk The Moon, Sarah Jaffe & The Deloreans. This show has been moved to The Big Four Lawn due to Ohio River flooding. Gates open at 5 p.m. and the music starts at 6 p.m. This is a free, all-ages show.
Thursday, April 28
WFPK 91.9 presents Live & Local at Hard Rock Cafe with Louisville artists Shadwick Wilde & The Quiet Hollers at 10 p.m.
The Young Widows Album Release Show with My Disco and Sapat at Headliner's Music Hall. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show starts at 9 p.m. This is an 18 and over concert (IDs will be checked at the door). Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 the day of the show.
Friday, April 29
WFPK presents The Fervor's CD release show with Silver Tongues at Zanzabar, 9 p.m. Tickets are $6 and can be purchased in advance at Ear X-tacy. This is a 21 and up show.
The Fourth Annual Louisville Music Showcase at Headliners Music Hall featuring Heaven Hill, A Lion Named Roar, Olivia Henken, The Instruction, Dave Moisan and East 146. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. This is an 18 and over show (IDs will be checked at the door).
Saturday, April 30
Louisville rockers Uh-Huh Baby Yeah! will be holding their much-anticipated CD release show at Uncle Pleasant's. The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets for this all-ages event are $10. Uh-Huh Baby Yeah! are finalists in the 2011 Hard Rock Battle of the Bands Competition.
Sunday, May 1
The Louisville Youth Orchestra will be holding a concert at Iroquois Amphitheater. The show begins at 4 p.m., and admission is free with a 2011 Derby Festival pin. This concert is an official Derby Festival event.
