Grammy Award winners Robin Thicke and Jennifer Hudson will bring their distinctive takes on rhythm and blues to Louisville May 13 at the Louisville Palace, one of the stops on their current 26-show R&B joint tour of the United States.
Robin Thicke, the son of actor Alan Thicke, has sold more than 2 million albums in his seven-year career. He's won six Academy Awards — including two for producing and songwriting on co-headliner Jennifer Hudson's debut album.
Thicke's third and latest solo album, 2008's Something Else, is a tribute to and reimagining of 1970s soul and pop. His fourth album is scheduled to be released this fall.
Jennifer Hudson's six-week tour with Thicke marks her first official tour. Hudson came to prominence when she appeared as a contestant on American Idol. She won an Academy Award for her performance in the 2006 fim version of the musical hit Dreamgirls and a Grammy Award for her 2008 debut album, Jennifer Hudson. (Thicke produced and wrote one of the songs on this album, "Giving Myself.")
The Louisville Palace's website offers ticket buyers a chance to see the view from their seat before they buy. You can buy tickets online, by calling (877) 598-8698 or by visiting the Louisville Box Office from noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and two hours before any scheduled event.
