Robin Williams' March 20 show has been rescheduled to Oct. 6 at the Louisville Palace Theatre. Williams was forced to postpone much of his "Weapons of Self-Destruction" comedy tour when he underwent heart surgery.
Tickets bought for March 20 will be honored.
Williams' "Weapons of Self-Destruction" comedy tour — packed with the comedian's whimsical free associations, rapid-fire improvisational turns and takes on politics and popular culture — kicked off in September 2008 to sold-out houses and rave reviews. But the comedy tour was interrupted when it was discovered that Williams needed heart surgery. The Julliard-trained actor's aortic valve was replaced March 13.
Fans have been thrilled to see Williams return to stand-up comedy after years as a star in comic and serious films and after four Academy Award nominations and two Emmy wins. Williams' latest movie is Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, the sequel to the 2006 family film in which he reprises his role as Teddy Roosevelt. Williams will next be seen starring in Disney's comedy Old Dogs, which is scheduled to be released on Thanksgiving.
The Louisville Palace's website offers ticket buyers a chance to see the view from their seat before they buy. You can buy tickets online, by calling (877) 598-8698 or by visiting the Louisville Box Office from noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and two hours before any scheduled event.
Those holding March 20 tickets who can't attend the rescheduled Oct. 6 date must return tickets to the point of purchase by Aug. 7 at 5 p.m. at the latest. No refunds will be given after that time.
