Timeless tradition meets 21st century technology at Squallis Puppeteers’ summer puppet/video camps. During these two week-long camps, children new to puppeteering experiment with making puppets, devising story lines and developing vivid characters.
Each of the five days, students will create a new character from recyclables and fabric and learn through improvisational puppet games. Four to six weeks after the workshop, each participant will receive a DVD of the various stories they created. The camps take place in the School of Sharks Theater, which is located on the second floor of Our Mother of Sorrows School. The camps cost $175.
Don’t delay! Each camp has just 15 slots!
The Puppet Invasion Video Camp, designed for children ages 6 to 10, runs June 14–18 while the Tell Your Story Video Camp, designed for children ages 8 to 12, runs July 5–9. The camps run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday of that week.
Squallis Puppeteers have been entertaining audiences with original shows and 10-foot-tall puppets since 1997.
