Louisville’s new KFC Yum! Center has added another major artist to its list of upcoming performances – The Judds. The legendary ladies from Ashland, Kentucky will bring their 2010 tour, “The Judds: The Last Encore” to Louisville on Friday, Dec. 3. Tickets are already on sale, but the good ones are expected to go quickly.
The mother-daughter duo of Naomi and Wynonna Judd announced this new tour, supposedly their last, in mid-October in conjunction with their first single in years, “I Will Stand By You.” One of country music’s most popular duos in history, The Judds released six studio albums, had 25 songs hit the charts, 14 number one singles, and racked up five Grammy Awards and eight CMAs between 1983 and 2000. \
Their hits included Grandpa (Tell Me ‘Bout the Good Ole Days), Why Not Me, Love Can Build a Bridge and Mama He’s Crazy. Wynonna broke out in 1991 to start her solo career after Naomi announced that she was battling Hepatitis C and was retiring from the state.
For the really huge Judds fans out there, the duo is offering two exclusive fan packages that deliver a concert experience they will never forget. The “Fan Package” includes tickets in rows 6-10, a pre-show reception with food and drinks (but no Judds), a special T-shirt, early access into the KFC Yum! Center and preferred parking. The price? A cool $225. Want to meet the Judds in person? That’ll cost you $500 (but you do get tickets in the first five rows).
Regular tickets range from $52-$72 and can be purchased at the Kentucky Exposition Center, Kentucky International Convention Center and KFC Yum! Center ticket offices, as well as through Ticketmaster outlets at 1-800-745-3000 or www.ticketmaster.com.
