The Wiggles will bring their zany fun to the Louisville Palace Aug. 30 for two shows. The Australian children's group is promoting its latest album, The Wiggles Go Bananas!, including their hit, "Monkey Man."
A staple on Disney Channel's Playhouse Disney television block, the Wiggles combine bouncy pop tunes, quirky dancing and child-development theories into non-stop fun for preschoolers. Since 2005, the Wiggles have performed live before 1.5 million children in the United States alone. The shows encourage audience participation: dancing in the aisles, wearing costumes, bringing roses for Dorothy the Dinosaur or bones for Wags the Dog and crying out "Wake up, Jeff!"
But the foursome — Anthony Field (blue), Murray Cook (red), Jeff Fatt (purple) and newcomer Sam Moran (yellow) — won't be alone; kids will glad to know that they'll be accompanied by Captain Feathersword, Dorothy the Dinosaur, Henry the Octopus, Wags the Dog and the Wiggly Dancers troupe, too.
The Wiggles were named UNICEF goodwill ambassadors last year.
The Louisville Palace's website offers ticket buyers a chance to see the view from their seat before they buy. You can buy tickets online, by calling (877) 598-8698 or by visiting the Louisville Box Office from noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and two hours before any scheduled event.
The most expensive tickets — $39 — are for the "hot potato seats" and include an exclusive Wiggles giveaway.
