Tyler Perry brings his latest play to the Louisville Palace

Funny man Tyler Perry will present his newest play, Tyler Perry's Laugh to Keep from Crying, at the Louisville Palace for two performances on Nov. 15.

The play, touring the country, concerns the interactions of a busybody landlord, played by Palmer Williams (from television's Tyler Perry's House of Payne), with a single mother, played by R&B and gospel singer Cheryl "Pepsii" Riley, a veteran of other Perry projects. Audiences will get lots of laughs, great singing and Perry's trademark message of redemption. Performances are 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 15.

Acclaimed for his comedic plays and films, each with an uplifting message, Perry's new play is the 11th for the actor, playwright, screenwriter, producer and director of independent films. Perry is best known for his recurring character, Mabel "Madea" Simmons, an overbearing, cantankerous but well-meaning old lady whom Perry plays himself. Many of Perry's films have been made into movies; Perry's films have grossed over $400 million.

Tickets are $47. The Louisville Palace's website offers ticket buyers a chance to see the view from their seat before they buy. You can buy tickets online, by calling (877) 598-8698 or by visiting the Louisville Box Office from noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and two hours before any scheduled event.
