3 day / 2 night Backpacking Trip - Chattooga Trail SC
Hike Leader - Matt Adams Distance - 31 miles Pace - easy - have 31 miles to cover in approximately 2.5 days Difficulty - easy/moderate Terrain - rolling/mountainous Travel Time - 6.5 hours ****UPDATE**** My work decided to pull a "mandatory" meeting on me for the 19th so I am bumping the departure date up to the 20th (Saturday) with a return date of the 22nd (Monday). Everything else remains the same. Details below. Thanks. ****END UPDATE***** I am planning a 3 day/2 night backpacking trip along the Chattooga Trail in SC, March 20th through the 22nd. This trail runs along the Chattooga River for 15.5 miles, one way. I figure we can do an out-and-back for a total of 31 miles. I have not made up my mind as to the camping arrangements yet. I have done a portion of this trail when I hiked the Foothills Trail last year and let me tell you, it's amazing. Here is a link to some info. You can dig up more with the Google: http://www.sctrails.net/trails/ALLTRAILS/Hiking/Upcountry/Chattooga.html Logistics: -Meet at my apartment and leave Louisville at around 6 a.m. (it's a 6.5 hour drive) -The trip is open to anyone who wants to go, but if you want to ride with me, I have room for 3. We can split gas that way. -Because it's such a short trip, we have lots of options as to what we do when we get there. I will figure all that out later. :) I like to just "wing it" sometimes and the last time I pulled something like this, we had a great trip. Just ask the three brave young ladies who accompanied me. Anyway, I hope to hear from you. You can contact me up until the 18th if you want to go! I would hate to go this one solo! ...but I will!! :) Matt
