Louisville Equestrian Center: Riding in Style

The Louisville Equestrian Center is about everything horses. Whether riding lessons, horse boarding, polo lessons, horse shows and show preparation services, pony parties or horse sales, the Louisville Equestrian Center does it all!

The center — the brainchild of Betsy Webb, one of just three instructors in all of Kentucky certified at Level III by the American Riding Instructors Association — opened in 2009. (Webb is the only ARIA-certified instructor at any level in the Louisville area.) The center boasts 78 matted stalls with two indoor and two outdoor riding arenas.

Webb offers lessons for beginners as young as 3 and lessons for children or adults at every level of horsemanship. Don’t own your own mount? No worry: The Equestrian Center has 30 clever, reliable lesson horses of all sizes and levels, whether three-gaited, five-gaited and Western and including advanced horses that are show quality.

The Sport of Kings isn’t just for royalty anymore! The more adventurous riders can learn how to play polo in group or individual lessons at affordable prices. Another type of specialty lessons are the Equi-cise ones, which improve fitness, balance and coordination in the fresh air.

Those with their own horses or ponies will appreciate the matted stalls, the six indoor grooming areas, the climate-controlled tack room, the 24-hour security, the automatic fly-spray system and the laundry room. In addition to the two indoor climate-controlled arenas, the center also has a pasture and a paddock. Fees begin at $300 per month for pasture boarding. Those who wish to buy a horse of their own can get assistance with that as well from Webb and her staff.
