Local Louisville Band and Musicians

Louisville has long been known as a home to incredible musicians and great venues. The Grammy Award-nominated indie rock group My Morning Jacket hails from Louisville, as do platinum-selling artists Tantric, Flaw, Days Of The New, and rap and R&B group Nappy Roots.
A number of popular eclectic artists also call Louisville home, including punk rock forerunners Slint, jazzy rockers NRBQ, and Joan Osborne, singer of the 1995 smash hit "One of Us"
You'll find a plethora of great music venues in Louisville. While the brand new KFC Yum! Center in downtown Louisville attracts today's biggest artists (as does the Kentucky Center), smaller, independent venues such as Headliner's and The Hideaway Saloon in the Highlands and Expo Five in south Louisville attract an interesting mix of bands from Louisville's top-quality, yet oft-overlooked local music scene. Zanzibar and Uncle Pleasant's on Preston Street host independent rock, folk, hip-hop and metal acts in central Louisville, while the newly renovated Iroquois Amphitheater invites many national acts to perform as part of their yearly summer concert series.
