GLI's Annual Meeting To Be Held at KFC Yum! Center March 15

Greater Louisville Inc. will be holding its annual meeting Tuesday, March 15, from 4:45-9 p.m. at the KFC Yum! Center. This meeting brings together prominent business, political, and community leaders for an evening of networking and celebration.

This year's keynote speaker will be Alan Mulally, President and CEO of Ford Motor Co. Mulally's speech -- and the meeting itself -- will focus not only on the numerous successes of local businesses this year, but also on Ford Motor Co.'s role in the regional economy.

Also at the meeting, the Gold Cup Award will be given to honor lifetime achievement and connection to the community, charities and volunteer organizations. This year's recipients are Christy and Owsley Brown II for their many contributions to the Louisville community.

In addition, Silver Fleur-De-Lis Awards will be given to University of Louisville President James Ramsey and Joe Steier, President and CEO of Signature HealthCARE. Both are being honored for their pivotal roles in Louisville's "aging care" sector, encompassing the health care and lifestyle needs of seniors. Louisville boasts the largest collection of aging-care businesses in the United States with more than $28 billion in revenue.

Attendees also will be able to enter to win a free two-year lease on a 2011 Ford Escape. Raffle tickets are $20 each and all proceeds will benefit scholarships given by the 15,000 Degrees program. That program is a subset of the GLI's 55,000 Degrees program, which encourages Louisville's African-American community to become involved in the goal of 55,000 new college graduates by the year 2020.
