KingFish Louisville, a local landmark since Derby Day 1948, continues to ply diners with the same traditional seafood fare — and in the same generous portions. Yes, KingFish Louisville now boasts grilled tuna, salmon or blackened chicken Caesar salad ($11.99), a coconut shrimp platter ($14.99), the Black and Bleu Chicken Sandwich ($6.99) and a grilled tuna entree ($11.99). And yes, these days, just about any dish can be ordered grilled or broiled instead. But the real attraction to KingFish is old-fashioned fish and seafood, served fried and with golf ball-sized, non-greasy hush puppies, fries and coleslaw or salad.
Whether it's the fried whitefish platter ($13.99), the sea scallops platter ($17.99), the pan-fried oyster platter ($13.99), clam strips platter ($8.99) or a 20-jumbo shrimp Shrimp Feast ($14.99) — all come hand-battered or breaded and gently fried. Dinners come with hush puppies and two side dishes.
Can't decide? Opt for the Seafood Feast ($13.99) — a tilapia filet, shrimp, clam strips and catfish — or the Seafood Platter ($17.99), a heaping helping of cocktail shrimp, fried shrimp, whitefish, sea scallops, oysters, a crab cake and a pair of frog's legs. The Broiled Seafood Platter runs a dollar more. Or you could create your own combination from 14 fried and 10 grilled or broiled options. The first two items cost $13.99, while each additional item costs an extra $3.
On the KingFish kids' menu, options are priced from $3.99 to $5.99. The restaurant offers a wide selection of desserts, including that Louisville favorite, Derbie Pie® ($3.99).
The restaurant has free Wi-Fi, and all locations are handicapped accessible.
