Wilder Elementary School Reviews

My son is only in Kindergarten, but we have had a wonderful experience so far. We love his teacher and the TA, and we love the principal. I do not like all day Kindergarten programs, but that was our only option since we couldn't pay for private tuition. Everyone at the school seems to be very compassionate and helpful with these little kids and all the big adjustments they have to go through. I have attended a few PTA meetings and I have been very impressed with the parental support. I feel very fortunate that my son is able to go to Wilder. If I had any complaints, it would be regarding the 'full day' kindergarten program which is district wide. I wish we could have found a half day program. We will do everything we can to keep our kids at Wilder.

My children enjoy Wilder. There seems to be a great caring atmosphere from the teachers & assistants. After speaking to the principal about my child's special health needs, she was very accommodating. As with all schools, I think communication between parents & staff are the key element in a great education for your children. The PTA has many extra activities & parental involvement that seems greater than in most schools. Academics are truly important to this school, as well as a healthy environment.

I have a son going to Wilder and he loves his school. I love the teachers at Wilder and the emphasis put on academics. The PTA seems to do great things for the school and the actvities are very family-oriented. I don't think you could ask for better teachers, assistants, volunteers, or principal that what is at Wilder. I must admit however that I have had some instances where the office staff has been rude to me like some of the other postings have said, and that is a shame since normally the first people you encounter in the school is the office staff and that doesn't make for a nice first impression.

Knowing about a school is invaluable. Wilder is the best! We love it! The principal is progressive and fair, the teachers and parents care and it is very safe! It rocks!

My children never felt welcomed at all. The office staff were very rude and selective about who they were nice to. I also have a special-needs child who was not accomodated at wilder. My children were glad to be switching schools. The person who helped my special-needs child most was a parent-volunteer who goes to school to offer extra help to students. She should be the one paid to be there.

I completely disagree with the previous two parents. My family has had a wonderful experience with this school. I have had two sons who are students, and one which is special needs. The teachers that I have dealt with have bent over backwards to accomodate my son and make him feel included. My oldest son has blossomed thanks to the care and concern that his teachers have shown. Not to mention the outstanding academic atmosphere that Wilder provides in a diverse learning environment. I also would praise Wilder's preschool program. The strides that my children have made are amazing.I credit it with stable, long term leadership.

I agree with the other parent who provided feedback, the teachers are not at all helpful with children who need extra attention. It seems as though there are too many children per teacher(class size). The office staff are also very rude and not at all helpful.

This school was not very helpful to a special needs child. The Principal was very disrespectful towards us, the parents. We switched to a Private school after this experience. The extra activites were nice and did involve all grade levels.
