Watterson Elementary School Reviews

Watterson Elementary is a wonderful school. The teachers and staff are dedictated and really love the students. I am proud to say my child goes to Watterson Elementary. Thanks for all you do!

I was very impressed by Watterson Elementarys P1 and P2 teachers. My daughter excelled very quickly and was ahead in all areas. We have had a very good experience here. The PTA works very hard to earn money for the school and they do a lot of after school activities to get the parents involved.

My son's teacher doesn't seem too involved in his education. I don't feel like he is stimulated enough and each day they have a snack hour and watch movies. I am not sending him to school to watch movies. Also the counselor there is very rude.

I would like to say Watterson Elem. Is a wonderful school. The staff goes above and beyond in keeping there children safe. I am thankful to Mr. Morgan and Mrs. Crawley you all go thru so much but you really have patience. I will truly miss you. I know my next school will not be able to hold a candle to you.I would like to thank the principal and the whole staff. You all don't get paid enough for some of the things you endure on a day to day bases. Parents if you are not involved in your kids life or school take a second and listen to your children,. They can teach you a lot.It starts at home.May god bless each and everyone of you. And again thanks.Dm

My son has aspergers syndrome and with the help of the staff at watterson, he has came a long way. I can not thank them enough.

I was also threaten by an adult ON SCHOOL PROPERTY because I was told by a younger student that my bike was ugly and I responded ha cost more than yours and then the principle threated to call cops if I did not leave I did not say anything to the person that told me your a little punk picking on little kids and I responded DO NOT TALK TO ME IDK YOU!!! To sumone this school up in a couple of words it is SCARY on what really goes on!!! Don't get me started on school foods!!!!!!!

I chose Watterson for my son because of its reputation and I'm very glad I did. My first grader is happy, thinks his teacher is the best and is really excelling this year. I do believe however that the schools are not getting enough support from the state. Too much emphasis is placed on the 'budget' and not enough on keeping good, caring and qualified teachers in our school system. I support the teaching staff at Watterson and will do whatever I can as a parent to support the school.

Watterson is a good school; however, like many in this district, there is an insufficient amount of money provided for supplies and resources. This creates a tense and negative feeling that results in a false image. My daughters, K and 3rd, anxiously awaited the return to school and I hope that their teachers remain fully supported throughout the year. The PTA is active and works hard to give what support they can and the Family Resource Center often teams up with the PTA too. I am glad that the staff cares as much as they do and I believe that this will be a good year - even with the lack of financial support that the school needs and deserves. I believe this because I, like so many other parents, am willing to show support. With our help, the staff will take care of the rest!

I feel like my daughter is in a safe environment and that she is in a caring school

My daughter is in 3rd grade and loves going to watterson! She is really blossoming and even though she struggles at times, the schol is not giving up and they work hard to create a great educational experience.

I have one child in Kindergarten and the other is in first grade. My first grader had a great experience last year. I was impressed by the curriculum and there attention to reading. She learned quickly with help from her 'reading buddy' at school. My kindergartner now is following suit. I have been impressed by the teachers my girls have had and many others I have come in contact with. The principal is a wonderful man. I have watched him interact with the kids and they love him. He is fun and entertaining to them. He also takes his job seriously when it comes to finding ways to better the school. This can also be found in a good combination of involved parents and teachers.Overall I feel blessed that my children are attending a school that they love and I feel good about sending them too.

My child received a wonderful education here. The staff works very hard to help the students to reach their goals.

This school did not meet the needs of my child. Watterson has a very slow advancement level, they did not cover the required core content for his grade level.
