Moore Traditional High School Reviews

I have been at this school for several years when I began my teaching career. Overall, the great teachers in this building are lacking at times. Some can be great but they would rather not fight the chaos of the building. My personal academic standards are high for my students and I have been told I am difficult to pass. I think if there was more parent involvement, the overall school appearance would be much better but parents are not involved with the educational process once they hit high school here. I also think if the principal would actually go through the halls there would be a better morale between staff and students. The principal needs to take a harsher stand to get the students to behave appropriately. Unfortunately the school has gone downhill overall and I am disappointed with the lack of communication and discipline of the administration.

I am a current graduate of Moore H.S. (I also attended the Middle School.) The one good thing about Moore is that the students are typically very 'Down to earth.' You don't have to have a lot of money or status to fit in. In the High school, you are expected to act like an adult, but treated much like a child. (Ex. no backpacks or purses in class. It's difficult to be 18 and held to the same standards as a 6th grade student) I would like to see Moore add more electives and to really inforce meaningful rules. I'd also like future students to recieve more help with college.

most teachers become more then teachers...they become your friend...they listen and understand and make learning fun...yes it may not be the best looking school but you cant judge a book by its cover...

I attended Moore Because of Hurricane Katrina, and I would have to say that it is one of the worst schools i have ever seen or attended.
