Crosby Middle School Reviews

I go to crosby now. Honestly I love it :) It is definately crowded. BUt the teachers and staff do as much as they can to help students whatever problems they have. and if you have a student that needs extra assistance there isnt a lot of people to go around. but i love crosby and would love to do it all over again!

I love crosby Midlle school i think that the teachers are great but there are a couple of things that they need to change for example there strict dress codes.it takes away the expression of children.but i would recomend crosby to other parents and students has a great education

I am unhappy with Crosby. The focus at Crosby is on rules, not students. There is so much 'herd the cattle' mentality here it is ridiculous. I have been less than impressed with the quality of teaching. I have an advanced program student who would love to have some enthusiastic and interesting teaching, but everything he seems to be learning is very rote and prescribed. My child has definitely lost the passion they had for school before they attended Crosby. Almost all my dealings with the administration have been less than adequate. No one seems to care too much about anything except dress code and control.

There are excellent music programs, excellent teachers & staff, a magnificent principal... This is truly one of the best schools around!

crosby rocks and highly recomended

The staff at Crosby are good, caring people, but if you have a student with any behavioral or academic issues (i.e. ADHD), then you need something else. The school is overcrowded because so many parents want their kids to attend Crosby. Consequently, the teachers don't have time for kids with learning difficulties. They did try to help, but were not able to. I agree with an earlier review that stated if your child is not organized, then forget Crosby. For those who think it is the best school in Jefferson County because of grades/test scores...consider this...of course the school is going to look great. When you take nothing but the best students whose parents have to work hard to get them in...you will have nothing but the best grades/test scores. :) A concerned parent of a former Crosby student

I am a graduate of Crosby and I just want to say that this school is really not what it's all cracked up to be. The teachers teach to the test and honestly do not care about the students. If your child is unorganized or needs special attention, I would advise you not to go to Crosby. It's so easy to get lost in the huge class sizes and there are so many strict, ridiculous rules, your child child will be miserable.

This school rocks!! It is the best!!! Extra curriculars are of wide variety and are phenominal and the teachers are excellent, too.

Our daughter graduated from here and now our son attends. Mr. Lattimore is an excellent principal and a fine man.

the principal is nice this is the school to be in

My son goes to Crosby, and I feel it is a pretty good school. When we transfered here from Houston, Texas he fell in with some kids who were not ' the greatest kids'. His grades were slumping, his attitude was changing, and he wasn't showing us all of his homework. The teachers reconized what was going on and set up a parent/teacher meeting immediately. To make a long story short, he went from D's and C's to making the A/B honor roll. I can firmly say, these people know what they are doing!

I am a parent of a 7th grader at Crosby. My child has gone down hill since she started there last year.I have found the teachers are unorganized and the staff is indifferent about parental concerns. The school does not have adequate books for students. If your child is not highly organized and very motivated to do well this school is the pits. I hope this will be a better year for us. Concerned Crosby Mom

My daughter attended school at Crosby. It was very disappointed for us. The school is very overcrowded. If your child has a learning disability forget this school. The staff will not help you. The teacher are usually hiding and do not return phone call or email. Send you child somewhere else.

Crosby is one of the best schools in Jefferson County. It was named one of the Schools to Watch in 2005-2006 school year. Now ever teacher around the Country comes to see Crosby and how teachers teach the students, to try to make their school better

Crosby Middle School is the best middle school in Louisville. Kirk Lattimore, the principal, is an incredible and brilliant man. He is extremely involved in the school and with the students. He is well respected at Crosby as well as throughout Jefferson County Public Schools. The teachers at the school are caring, highly qualified, and motivating to the students.

I absolutely LOVe Crosby! Mr. Lattimore, the principal is great. He is highly respected. The music program is one of the best in the state for middle schools. Crosby also has many extra-curricular type activities. Crosby is also one of only two schools in the state to have a Visual Basic (computer programming) classes. From what I have seen, parents are really involved in the school. I would recommend this school to anyone!

I hated this school. it was extremley ghetto, the teachers were mean and nasty and the food in the cafeteria looked and tasted discusting. i now go to South Oldham high school and I would have to say that it is 10 times better.

This school is a great one. I love attending it and my parents love me attending it too. I have been there 2 years and the teachers are welcoming and understanding. Also, the music program is wonderful. I am in band, but I have friends in all of the classes, such as Chorus, Orchestra, and Piano Lab. I applied to another school, but because it was a random selection I did not get in but if I were to have to apply to a middle school again I would only want to go to Crosby.

There are lots of academic programs, tutoring programs, extracurricular activities and great teachers. There is a great music program and my child has greatly inproved. The parents are highly involved. I know that the school could definetly be cleaner, but that is the greatest fault it has. The teachers are understanding and there are hardly ever fights. I have only seen 2 in the 2 years that I have attented. There is also great discipline. Mr. Lattimore does a great job letting the students know who is boss, and the rules, expectations and consequences are laid out very clearly and are very strictly followed. There is detention, boot camp, and saturday school, not to mention the oppurtunity room (O.R.) There are uniforms, which I do not agree with, but they establish authority. If I had to choose again, i would definitley choose crosby again, out of the whole district.
