Centerfield Elementary School Reviews

My son will be in 3rd grade when we return to school this fall. We spent 2 years at Buckner Elementary, then were redistricted. Hesitantly we made our adjustments to Centerfield and could not be happier. My son is testing at the next grade level in reading and math. I can't say enough about how pleased we are with our move. Centerfield is a wonderful environment and my son loves it!!!

This school and surrounding schools receive accolades in comparison to other schools in the state. However, Oldham County schools by comparison nationwide, are ranked 1,263. (http://www.newsweek.com/id/39380) Kentucky is ranked 31st in education. KY has no anti-bullying laws, yet 32 other states do. Kentucky has made progress in education, but if you compare this school and county to schools from other states, you might soon realize why so many in these parts send their children to private schools. Iif your child has been attending school in a more progressive state, expect them to have already covered much of the curriculum taught here. Centerfield, in particular, is an old brick school, the principal has a negative reputation, and many of the teachers are young and inexperienced.

Outstanding school. I can't complain about anything. The teachers are wondeful and my son is getting a top-notch education. A++++++

Centerfield is defintily a top school A+++++++.My daughter loves it here.Keep up the good work!

Centerfield is an outstanding elementary school. I have two children attending the school and feel that they are receiving an excellent well rounded education. Centerfield continually places among the highest elementary schools in the state and draws its population from the surrounding neighborhoods. The school is very willing to work with the community and has an active PTSA who help the school with many programs and projects. Any time I have had a concern the administration quickly responded and followed through with the action that I was promised. The staff at Centerfield is truly student centered. The only negative I can see is that some of the parents try to base decisions solely on their own children and don't keep the big picture in mind.

I think the comment by the previous person misunderstands the blended school concept. By having 2nd grade kids help 1st grade kids gave me a 1st grader testing at 3rd grade levels. Now that she is in 2nd grade she is in a leadership position and is responsible to help a 1st grade student succeed. This is a wonderful school where the teachers and support staff truly care for the attending students. Many extrracurricular programs are available for all types of kids. Parents are also very involved in the school. All of these things together add up to an ideal learning environment creating students with real life skills ready for Middle School.

Centerfield is a wonderful school. The teachers do everything they possibly can, to ensure that all students succeed. The great number of extracurricular activities that the school offers including everything from cross-country and basketball to chess and Mad Science impressed me. All of my children completely enjoyed every experience that had at Centerfield Elementary and I would recommend the school to everyone!!

the class size is a lot larger than they report. they have 1st and 2nd and 3rd and 4th grades together and the students that are advanced end up teaching to the slower children and looking after the disabled children that are in the class to make sure they are doing the work that they are supposed to do. I feel that this does not allow the more advanced child to move on and improve his or her skills.
